Soffits & Eavestroughs Service
Did you know that soffits, fascias, and eavestroughs all play important roles in the structural integrity of your business or home? In case you are wondering what these three items are, don’t worry we will provide you with a brief introduction into the vital part that they play in keeping your Collingwood home or business dry, beautiful, and energy-efficient. The fascia (also known as the fascia board) is a straight board that is attached to the lower edge of the roof. It is used to support the roof trusses and gutter system. The soffits and eavestroughs are customized to provide both a practical look and an important role in your home’s ecosystem. Soffits help a home’s roof breath, through ventilation, bringing fresh air into the attic, regulating temperature and preventing moisture build up.
Eavestroughs are a water distribution management tool, that collects water that lands on the roof and directs it away from the foundation of the home. This helps prevent water from leaking into basements and creating structural damage below the ground level.

Ainger Siding is an industry leader in soffit and eavestrough solutions.
What Is A Soffit?
Soffits are available in a wide variety of materials, finishes, and colours. They are attached to the outside walls of a commercial building or residential home and used to extend the fascia boards, while simultaneously covering up the undersides of any eavestrough. Soffits typically have vents to create regular airflow, remove heat from attics, and prevent moisture from building up. By removing excess heat, soffits are able to significantly reduce the risk of mildew or mould growth and ice build-up. They also help to prevent rotting and reduce the overall repair costs associated with mildew or mould remediation.

In the last 25 years, we’ve seen it all and there’s no job too big for us to handle.
What are the benefits of a soffit?
Did you know that soffits have several benefits?
These benefits can include:
- Reducing the monthly utility bill by removing unnecessary heat from attic spaces.
- Increasing curb appeal by providing a finished look to roof rafters and patios.
- Depending on the materials used, some soffits have minimal repair costs, never need to be painted, and can provide long-lasting and high-quality results.

What Is An Eavestrough?
Eavestroughs act like rain gutters during particularly wet seasons. In layman’s terms, the eavestrough will collect and carry water away from your roof and foundation. Installing the right type of eavestrough can be a tricky task. Fortunately, at Ainger Siding, we take the time to consider a wide range of environmental, structural, and season-based factors to properly channel the excess water. What causes a customer to call Ainger Siding, regarding replacing their worn out eavestroughs, isn’t because of leaves or debris….its because of ice loads in the eavestrough pulling it away from the fascia board, thermal expansion/contraction of the aluminum between the traditional fastening systems (hidden hanger/spike and ferrule) creating wrapping and the sun drying out the exposed caulking, creating leaking corners. Our eaves cleaning team can also help you prepare for the winter months. At Ainger Siding, we can create eavestroughs in 5” and 6” widths, in any colour, and work with you to best strategize your water distribution system, which protects your home and helps make it look good.

Your Eavestrough Installation Expert
Eavestroughs used to be installed with nails or invisible hangers at 24- inch intervals. While these systems were relatively strong, they left long stretches of aluminum eavestrough exposed to wear and tear, at each section between hangers. Alu-Rex’s innovative Continuous Hanger eavestrough protection products, reinforce the eavestrough along its entire length, managing weight of ice, snow, thermal expansion / contraction of the eavestrough and protects the caulking inside the gutter, from the sun’s UV rays, helping prevent leaking corners. These are Canadian made products, that apply Lifetime Transferable Warranties to your eavestrough.

Retrofit Leaf Guard for Areas with Debris
If you’ve ever had to clear eavestroughs clogged with decaying debris or hire a contractor to excavate your property and fill cracks in your foundation, you understand the importance of having an effective rainwater drainage system for your home. Overflow caused by clogged or cracked gutters increases the risk of water seeping under roofs or into basements.
At Ainger Group, we carry Alu-Rex eavestrough protection products—long-lasting solutions to protect your most important investments. The gutter guards we install on existing eavestroughs are part of our Gutter Clean System® line. They keep your gutters clear all year long, even protecting them from ice and snow in the winter. By blocking debris and preventing ice from forming inside your eavestrough, Alu-Rex eavestrough protection products, helps keep water away from the fascia and your basement.
